Innermost By Sabrina Wages

Innermost. The most sacred place to be, the place longed for in so many people in our society nowdays.

Our hearts long for a world where we belong, a place where we fit in. The trouble with chasing after the will and wanting to fit in is that we lose one of our creator's biggest desires.

He wants us to stand out.

The question is, what is so important about the innermost part of our beings? What stands out in there that isn’t available or offered out here in the everyday world? I’ll tell you, it’s the path and purpose that lives inside of us given to us by the one who created the world. Not just our world, but the stars and the galaxy’s, the One who created every ounce of everything you see. The One who made the world go around and brings the tide in and out at specific times each day. The one who formed you before you were born knit you together with love in every strand. God, the innermost part of our being, leads us straight to God. Being and dwelling in our innermost being opens the door for our purpose to shine through.

Our deepest desires, our dreams and goals, so many of those are from the Creator Himself. We sometimes find it selfish to chase after those dreams in our hearts, thinking that we should be focused on spreading the gospel and bringing people to Christ.

I’m here to tell you today that fulfilling the purpose in our hearts is going to bring people to Christ. Fulfilling our God-given desires is what places us in God’s will, allowing us to minister to those around us to whom God has opened the door for us to minister.

For example, God has brought me back into the world of acting. Movies, tv shows are mostly secular over Christian. My first thought, and something also expressed by others, was, “You’re going to do movies and tv shows that aren’t Christian?” In my quiet time one night, God spoke these words so clearly though that I will never forget them. He said, “It’s time to infiltrate.” Infiltrate? What? Yes! The light shines brighter in a room full of darkness than it does in a room full of light.

So to get our light, the light of Jesus in us, out to witness to the world, we must sometimes go into darker places so His light is seen brighter. Remember this when God calls you into places you had never thought of entering. Go where He sends you. For some, this may be waking up every morning to those sweet little faces that need your every moment. To others, this may be simply going to the grocery store every Tuesday to minister to the sweet cashier. While to others, it means going into the deepest parts of the world to serve the sweet souls of the people there.

I’m here today to simply say that our purpose and deepest desires are found when we enter the innermost part of our being. The place in ourselves where God dwells and is ready with open arms to share the plan He has for us. Enter into the innermost part of your being today and find your true calling, fulfilling all that God has called you to be and do.

You have a deep purpose in this life.

Finding it begins with one simple step, entering into the innermost.
